What will it cost to train with Aiki Shotokan Karate?

You can book your first FREE trial lesson by contacting us. Trial lessons give you a chance to see how a typical class works and learn some basic techniques. Your trial lesson also offers us the opportunity to see if you are suitable to be offered a place in our dojo.

Hopefully once you have had your free trial class we will offer you a place in our dojo. You may then train FREE with us for up to a month before you join our dojo fully.

You will then be required to pay for all classes monthly in advance.

Our classes are one and a half hours long and must be booked and paid for monthly in advance.

Payments can be made either by cash or by direct bank transfer.

Training fees

Training fees must be paid monthly in advance. We send a class schedule out to all students each month detailing available training dates for the following month. You can book individual lessons which cost £9/class.

We offer unlimited lessons allowing students to train throughout the week at any or all our dojo for just £35/month.

This monthly cost increases to £60 for families with 2 people training and £80 for families over 2 people.

It is normally cheaper for most students to opt for the unlimited monthly lessons even if they can only attend once a week.

Grading costs

Our grading process is open to evening and weekend students and is the traditional way students are assessed to progress through ability levels. Grading is not compulsory. All students may attend gradings for practice.

Students intending to grade must fill out and submit a grading form by the end of the month before the applicable grading date. The full years’ grading schedule can be found on our events calendar.

All attendees pay normal lesson fee for grading sessions.

Only successful students pay the grading fee.

Evening & weekend dojo clothing and equipment

All students attending evening/weekend dojo must own and wear one of our badged karate suits. Our suits are good quality lightweight suits and come supplied with our embroidered badge.

Suits from us start at £35 (dependant on size).

Evening and weekend dojo students must also own the following sparring and training equipment as a minimum. These are supplied by us in a convenient set.

Sparring mitts, gum shield, groin guard and focus pads £50/set.

Suits and sparring equipment must be purchased after training no more than 4 lessons.

Additionally, we have a comprehensive range of clothing (embroidered with our club logo) available to buy direct from our suppliers online shop. All clothing is good quality and available in adult or childrens sizes.
